Gecko Takes Time To Serve Up Hospitality And Great Food At Ronald McDonald House

Chicago, Illinois - August 4, 2009 - Over 12 recruiters from the largest hospitality recruiting firm arrived in Chicago one day early to volunteer their time at the Ronald McDonald House at the University of Chicago. Traditionally, Gecko Hospitality holds one of its bi-annual meetings in Chicago and has grown accustomed to arriving early and spend time to prepare dinner for those families who have children undergoing medical treatment at the University of Chicago. "Since we're all from the restaurant and hospitality industry, the Ronald McDonald House gives us an opportunity to share the passion of being in the kitchen with those we work with on a daily basis and sharing that passion with families staying at the house", replies Robert Krzak, President of Gecko Hospitality.

"It's amazing how much fun our recruiters have not just planning and preparing the entire meal, but sitting and talking with those families whose children are ill. You have to remember that these parents are going through a traumatic time with one of their children needing medical treatment. From my experience, a majority of parents want to vent and talk about what's happening with their child's condition. That is where our experience comes into place as restaurant managers and recruiters. We are constantly listening and speaking to clients, candidates and guests fifty hours a week.... so this is a natural transition while at the Ronald McDonald House and we cherish this opportunity, replies Krzak."

The menu selected for this visit to the RMH was based around comfort food. Meat Loaf, Garlic Smashed Potatoes, Fresh Veggies and Chocolate Cake were big hits with the families. "I had one mother who came over and said, 'this is exactly what I needed.... A meal that tasted like home', replies Maurie Gingell, a Franchise Partner with Gecko Hospitality. "A chill goes down your back hearing something like that when you know someone's mind is focused on the health of their child, replied Gingell." Gecko Hospitality will continue to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Chicago and throughout the United States.
