"Nothing surprises me anymore, but I have learned that if you work hard, good things will happen for you"
John is excited to be a Recruiter for the state of Maryland, the state that he first began his restaurant career as a waiter in a seafood restaurant in Chesapeake City 40 years ago. He brings a diverse background with strong people communication skills to this position.
John grew up in Southeast Pennsylvania and moved to Delaware as a teenager. He attended the University of Delaware as Marketing major and began waiting tables to have spending money while in school. In 1977, John headed west in search of excitement and change. John settled in Denver and started as a bar back with TGI Fridays and soon became a head bartender and bar manager. He later worked as a bar manager for a casual dining restaurant before settling in as a FOH manager as well as Bar Manager for a local restaurant in the Denver University college area. He spent 17 years with this restaurant and was responsible for much of its success.
John recently went back to school and obtained a B.A. in Psychology and acquired a Colorado teaching license. He taught for 2 years throughout the Denver region and continued to bartend on weekends and occasional weeknights to supplement his income. He is very excited to become a recruiter and to connect great candidates with great clients and will work hard to serve their needs.
John has a 23 year old daughter, Rachel, who works as a sales executive for The Hyatt. His greatest joys are spending time with her, hiking, mountain biking, and camping in the serene Utah desert and the beautiful Colorado Mountains. Attending concerts and festivals are high on his list of recreational choices. An avid sports fan, he is particularly a devoted Broncos, Avalanche and Rockies fan as well.
