Cindi had her first taste of the restaurant industry when she was 8 years old on a summer vacation, she helped her Aunt and Uncle at their Tavern by making hamburger patties and bussing tables. Little did Cindi know the time spent at the Tavern would be the beginning of a lifelong restaurant career. During Cindi's high school years, she worked the snack bar at a Drive-In Movie Theater, cooked & cashiered at a local sandwich shop and then waitressed at an independent, family owned restaurant.
A couple years after graduating, Cindi headed to the Washington D.C. area to try a new place, she took a job with Charley’s Place, a Gilbert/Robinson Inc. restaurant, as a waitress to get her foot in the door. Cindi was promoted to their Bookkeeper and later became their Banquet Manager in McLean, Virginia where she met many interesting people, including journalist Katie Couric, tennis pro Arthur Ashe and Senator John Warner.
After six years in D.C., Cindi headed back to Pittsburgh and took a job as a server at the soon to be opened and first in an airport, T.G.I. Friday’s, two months later, she found herself promoted and preparing for the next Friday’s opening as their Restaurant Accountant in Boardman, Ohio. Cindi stayed there for several years, was promoted to Manager and then retired her Manager hat a couple of years later when she gave birth to her daughter and became their RA once again. Cindi ended her almost 17 year career with Friday’s doing one more new store opening in Pittsburgh and then took a year off to be a stay at home mom.
When it was time to go back to work, Cindi took a job outside the industry as an HR Admin for a manufacturer but soon realized that the restaurant industry is truly where her heart is. Cindi was thrilled when the New York Franchise Partner, Dean Seese, who she previously worked for during her time with Friday’s, approached her about joining his team. Working for Dean and Gecko Hospitality allows her to work in the industry she loves as well as providing the perfect family - work balance!
When Cindi is not working, she spends most of her time with her better half, Curtis, her precious daughter, Allison, and a great group of lifelong friends. Cindi loves antique shops, yard sales, repurposing her finds, crafting, cooking and Moms’ night out and she volunteers at the Humane Society and truth be told, she’s probably one cat away from being the crazy cat lady!
