About the Opportunity
Community Church is seeking a passionate and experienced Food and Beverage Director to lead and elevate our food and beverage operations. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, faith-based environment and brings a blend of culinary expertise, operational excellence, and people leadership.
The Food and Beverage Director will oversee all food service functions, from daily operations to special events, and ensure that offerings reflect our values of hospitality, quality, and care for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily food and beverage operations across church ministries, programs, and events
- Create and update menus that reflect diverse tastes and dietary needs while maintaining quality and budgetary targets
- Maintain strict compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety standards, including food handling and preparation regulations
- Hire, train, and supervise food service team members, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment
- Coordinate all food and beverage needs for large gatherings, community events, church services, and special occasions
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and inventory to ensure cost-effectiveness and consistent supply
- Monitor and control operational costs including food, labor, and supplies
- Respond to member and guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and a service-first attitude
- Collaborate with church leadership to ensure alignment with overall mission, values, and strategic goals
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in food and beverage operations; experience in a faith-based, nonprofit, or community-focused environment strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food cost management, and staffing procedures
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent required
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team with empathy and integrity
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
- Commitment to upholding the church’s values and serving the community with excellence
