Assistant Controller – Restaurant Division

Location: Charlotte, NC (Local Applicants Only)

Salary

Up to $120,000 annually, based on experience (DOE)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join the financial team within our restaurant division. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, analyzing key financial data, and supporting senior leadership in strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be instrumental in driving financial efficiency and upholding the organization’s financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports to assist senior management in decision-making.
• Oversee and reconcile balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
• Review payroll for precision prior to processing.
• Support revenue forecasting and growth initiatives to align with business objectives.
• Assist the Controller in managing all financial aspects of the organization.
• Supervise and mentor a team of up to five accountants, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, monitor tax-related activities, and prepare documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (specialization in restaurant or hospitality accounting is a plus).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to create clear, actionable financial reports.
• Advanced proficiency in financial accounting software and Excel.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with experience managing and mentoring a small team.
