About the Role

As a Sous Chef in Hawley, PA, you will be working in a hands-on, back-of-house leadership position, supervising the kitchen and working as a cook and sous chef as business needs require. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Executive Chef to maintain vision for culinary department
• Create menus and plates that fit the restaurant's standards and ideology
• Develop and plan menus considering guests, market conditions, costs, and other applicable factors
• Partner with Executive Chef to uphold sales strategy and achieve financial targets
• Manage and mentor staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, and ongoing education
• Maintain high professional food quality and sanitation standards
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and company policies
• Restock food supplies, take inventory, and support special event planning

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required
• Two years of progressive and relevant experience in a fine dining environment
• Formal culinary training a plus
• ServSafe Manager certification or ability to complete within 30 days of hire
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
