We are seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our hotel ownership and management company in the Albany metro region, serving as a key executive responsible for advancing the organization’s strategic vision, operational performance, and long-term asset value. The Senior Vice President (SVP) is a central executive leader responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision of a multi-asset hotel ownership and management platform. Serving as a key partner to ownership, investors, and the executive team, the SVP provides forward-thinking leadership that strengthens portfolio performance, enhances asset value, and ensures operational alignment with the company’s long-term investment strategy. This role is accountable for driving enterprise growth through disciplined operational oversight, rigorous financial management, and proactive stakeholder engagement. The SVP leads the organization in establishing best-in-class service standards, optimizing revenue and profitability, and advancing a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence across all managed and owned properties.

 

In addition, the SVP plays a critical role in evaluating new development, acquisition, and repositioning opportunities, providing operational and financial insight that informs investment decisions and supports scalable expansion. The ideal candidate demonstrates sophisticated business judgment, deep industry expertise, and the ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable results. With a highly polished executive presence and a commitment to strengthening brand partnerships, talent depth, and owner relations, the SVP ensures that each asset consistently outperforms its competitive set while contributing to the organization’s broader growth trajectory.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Vice President will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for a multi-state portfolio of full-service and select-service hotels. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will translate company goals into actionable hotel-level strategies, drive revenue growth, maximize asset value, and ensure all properties uphold the highest standards of service excellence.

 

You will serve as a key advisor to the C-suite and primary liaison for owners, investors, and brand partners. This crucial leadership role involves overseeing critical business functions, including property operations, financial management, stakeholder relations, and talent development to deliver results that align with both owner objectives and evolving industry trends

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management

  • Lead operational oversight for a robust and diverse property portfolio, encompassing branded and independent assets across multiple markets
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business plans, asset repositioning programs, and CapEx initiatives that optimize property value, market competitiveness, and operational efficiency
  • Regularly evaluate property-level performance metrics, guest satisfaction data, and market intelligence to inform decision-making and facilitate continuous improvement
  • Uphold and enhance company standards, leveraging industry insights to champion innovation and best practices

 

Financial Performance & Asset Optimization

  • Assume full P&L responsibility and oversight of complex annual budgets exceeding $50M, ensuring robust forecasting, expense management, and variance analysis across all properties
  • Partner with Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing leadership to drive RevPAR growth, market share gain, and topline revenue enhancement
  • Present transparent, detailed financial and operational reports to ownership groups and investors, supporting strategic decision-making and long-term value creation
  • Monitor and direct capital expenditures, renovation projects, and ROI-focused initiatives to increase asset longevity and competitiveness

 

Team Leadership, Culture & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Recruit, mentor, and empower high-performing hotel leaders, including Regional Directors and General Managers, promoting a culture of accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence
  • Foster open communication and collaborative partnerships with internal teams, property-level staff, and stakeholders across all touchpoints
  • Serve as the principal conduit for communication between property management, executive leadership, and ownership, ensuring company goals are consistently achieved at every level
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives that enhance organizational culture and retention

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be based in the Albany metropolitan area or demonstrate full willingness to relocate.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience within the hospitality industry, with at least 7 years in a senior executive multi-unit management role (VP level or above)
  • Demonstrated experience managing portfolios of $50M+ annual revenue and proven results improving profitability, guest satisfaction, and asset value
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related discipline required; MBA or master’s degree preferred
  • Deep familiarity with branded (Marriott, Hilton, IHG) and independent hotel operations, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Revenue Management
  • Advanced proficiency in interpreting and leveraging industry analytics (STR, P&L, RMS) to drive performance and value
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting financial and operational insights to executive audiences and investor groups
  • A strong, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to inspire teams during both stable and challenging market cycles
  • Demonstrated capability to lead through change, including property acquisitions, market repositioning, and brand conversions
