An upscale dining restaurant in the Marlboro, NJ area is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations, elevate the guest experience, and develop a strong culinary team culture.
This role is ideal for a chef who combines strong culinary talent with humility, leadership, and operational discipline. The right candidate understands that great kitchens are built through consistency, mentorship, accountability, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all back-of-house culinary operations in a high-quality upscale dining environment 
  • Create and maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency standards 
  • Train, coach, mentor, and develop kitchen team members while building a positive culture 
  • Manage scheduling, labor controls, food costs, purchasing, and inventory 
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and oversee product quality and ordering 
  • Ensure all sanitation, food safety, and health department standards are consistently exceeded 
  • Collaborate with ownership and leadership on menu development, seasonal features, and operational improvements 
  • Lead by example during service with a hands-on management style 
  • Foster strong communication and teamwork between front and back of house 
Qualifications
  • Proven Executive Chef experience in upscale dining 
  • Strong culinary foundation with a passion for food quality and guest experience 
  • Hospitality-forward leadership style with the ability to remain confident yet approachable 
  • Demonstrated success developing and retaining kitchen talent 
  • Strong understanding of food cost controls, labor management, and kitchen financials 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-focused environment 
  • Stable work history with progressive leadership growth preferred 
  • ServSafe certification preferred
