As Kitchen Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations, controlling food costs, and providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Maintain inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation, ordering, and organization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, plating, and cleaning.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate food delivery, maintaining a seamless flow between kitchen and dining room.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to ensure high performance, proper food preparation techniques, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring the use of fresh ingredients and maintaining consistency across dishes.
- Monitor kitchen performance during peak hours to ensure smooth service and address any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.
- Handle scheduling for kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage, especially during peak hours, while controlling labor costs.
- Perform regular inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
- Maintain financial oversight, including food cost management and minimizing waste, to achieve budget goals and maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar culinary leadership role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and culinary techniques.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Ability to manage food costs, inventory, and waste while maintaining high-quality food preparation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and stretching.
