Assistant General Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team. This key position serves a pivotal role, collaborating directly with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and ensure the successful performance of our property. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong operational background in the hospitality industry, a dedication to guest satisfaction, and a proven track record of managing staff and achieving key business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Assist the General Manager in leading and motivating the hotel team, creating an inclusive and service-oriented environment.
- Supervise department heads, provide mentorship, and encourage professional growth.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service to align with Hyatt’s core values.
2. Guest Experience Excellence
- Monitor and maintain guest satisfaction scores by quickly resolving concerns and enhancing the guest experience.
- Actively engage with guests by making yourself visible throughout the property and promptly addressing feedback.
- Champion loyalty programs to build long-term guest relationships and drive repeat business.
3. Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily operations across all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage.
- Ensure company standards, operational excellence, and brand compliance are consistently met.
- Handle emergencies effectively, prioritizing guest and employee safety while minimizing disruption.
4. Financial Performance
- Partner with the General Manager to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and achieve financial targets.
- Analyze performance reports regularly, implementing solutions to optimize revenue streams and control costs.
- Support the sales team in securing group reservations, events, and corporate partnerships.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain all legal compliance regarding health, safety, and employment regulations.
- Conduct regular property inspections to uphold cleanliness, maintenance, and brand standards.
- Ensure team members are trained and updated on safety and operational protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry. Prior experience as a Department Head or AGM is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage hotel operations and deliver measurable results in guest satisfaction and operational metrics.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis, with experience managing budgets and maximizing revenue.

- Strategic and solution-focused mindset to resolve challenges swiftly.
- Proficiency in hospitality management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Hyatt-brand properties or extended-stay hotel operations is a bonus.
- Familiarity with the Charlotte market and corporate travel needs will be highly regarded.
