Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations at a renowned restaurant in Providence, RI. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development and food preparation to staff management and maintaining the highest standards of food quality. This is a leadership role for a culinary professional with a passion for exceptional food and a drive for culinary innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of performance, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Develop and design creative, seasonal menus that align with the restaurant's concept and guest preferences.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients and supplies while controlling food costs and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen team members, fostering a culture of growth, professionalism, and passion for food.
  • Oversee the hiring and scheduling of kitchen staff to ensure the kitchen is properly staffed during peak times.
  • Monitor and enforce kitchen performance standards, including speed, quality, and presentation.
  • Handle menu planning for special events, catering orders, or other large-scale gatherings.
  • Keep up with culinary trends, new cooking techniques, and industry innovations to ensure the restaurant remains competitive and exciting.
  • Assist in managing the financial aspects of the kitchen, including budgeting, cost analysis, and achieving food margin targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a culinary leadership role, with at least 2 years as an Executive Chef in a high-volume or fine dining setting.
  • Extensive culinary knowledge and proficiency in contemporary cooking techniques and kitchen management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse kitchen staff.
  • Ability to develop and execute high-quality, creative dishes while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
  • Experience managing food costs, inventory, and budgeting.
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant’s operational needs.
