As the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the catering department, managing client relationships, executing events, and achieving both catering and sales goals. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of catering operations, including coordinating with clients, managing event logistics, and ensuring exceptional food quality and service.
- Develop and execute catering orders and events, ensuring that client specifications and expectations are met or exceeded.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring repeat business and high levels of satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and delivery teams to ensure smooth, timely execution of all catering orders and events.
- Assist clients in selecting catering options that fit their needs, preferences, and budgets, while providing recommendations for menu items and event setups.
- Manage event logistics, including staffing, setup, breakdown, and food delivery, ensuring all elements of the event run smoothly.
- Track and achieve sales goals, maximizing catering revenue through strategic planning, promotions, and networking.
- Handle all catering inquiries and lead follow-ups, converting leads into confirmed bookings.
- Maintain catering records, contracts, and client communications to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
- Work with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to drive catering sales and business growth.
- Train and supervise catering staff, ensuring they are well-prepared and equipped to provide high-quality service during events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during catering events and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor and manage catering inventory, ordering supplies as needed and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Assist in managing catering finances, including invoicing and payment tracking.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in catering management or a similar role within the foodservice industry.
- Proven experience in managing and executing catering events, from small gatherings to large-scale functions.
- Strong sales skills, with the ability to drive revenue and achieve catering sales targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a high level of service and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and practices.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for catering events.
- Proficiency in using catering management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
