An exciting new concept is coming to District Detroit, and we’re searching for a passionate Chef de Cuisine to lead the charge. This is a unique opportunity to bring bold, modern interpretations of classic Asian cuisine to one of Detroit’s most dynamic neighborhoods. This new restaurant will showcase contemporary takes on culturally significant dishes from across Southeast Asia—reimagined through modern techniques, elevated presentation, and premium ingredients. We’re building something special, and we need an experienced chef to bring it to life.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Oversee all kitchen operations and ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience
• Lead menu development and plating design in collaboration with the leadership team
• Hire, train, and develop a top-performing back-of-house team
• Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships while maintaining food cost targets
• Uphold and enforce safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Serve as a hands-on mentor and cultural leader in the kitchen
• Drive execution during service with a focus on quality, consistency, and team morale

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in a culinary leadership role within an upscale or modern Asian concept
• Proven success managing high-volume kitchen operations, preferably during a restaurant opening
• Strong culinary instincts with a creative, technique-driven mindset
• Experience hiring, training, and mentoring kitchen staff
• Solid understanding of food costing, labor management, and inventory systems
• A calm, focused leader with high emotional intelligence and attention to detail
