We’re on the hunt for an experienced and driven Executive Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations at our high-volume restaurant in Kalamazoo. This role includes a mandatory 4-week Manager-in-Training (MIT) program. Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $70,000, depending on experience and qualifications.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all kitchen operations and lead the HOH team to deliver consistent, high-quality food
  • Develop salaried kitchen managers, leads, and hourly staff through goal setting, feedback, and internal training systems
  • Maintain recipe adherence and uphold food quality standards
  • Manage food cost and kitchen labor to meet location targets
  • Handle all kitchen hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate food prep, daily operations, and staffing for regular service and special events
  • Complete monthly inventory and assist with end-of-month processes
  • Collaborate with the GM and management team on beer dinners and menu development
  • Ensure health, safety, and sanitation compliance across all kitchen operations
  • Conduct regular equipment maintenance and follow up on repairs and inspections
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and foster an inclusive team culture


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience managing a high-volume restaurant kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, equipment, and sanitation regulations
  • Experience with recipe costing, inventory control, and kitchen performance metrics
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Current ServSafe certification required


Physical Requirements

  • Must be present in the restaurant to perform job duties
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently, including up to 160 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a busy, loud, and occasionally wet or humid kitchen environment
