About the Role:

The Assistant General Manager supports the daily operations of the café, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, leading and developing staff, and managing the flow of inventory and service quality. This position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a key leadership role in building a collaborative, service-minded team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff, including baristas and food runners
• Maintain warm, professional guest interactions and resolve any service concerns
• Oversee inventory levels, place supply orders, and manage daily restocking
• Ensure consistent food and beverage quality and presentation
• Support shift coverage, scheduling, and timekeeping
• Uphold all health, safety, and cleanliness standards
• Assist with onboarding and continuous staff development
• Reconcile daily sales, cash drawers, and POS system reports
• Contribute to promotions and local marketing efforts
• Serve as acting manager in the General Manager’s absence

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a café, fast casual, or full-service restaurant
• Strong customer service skills and team-first mindset
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and POS systems
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Food safety certification (RBS or ServSafe) required or obtainable

Work Environment:

• 8-hour shifts
• On-site role located at our Del Mar café
• Must be comfortable standing, moving, and multitasking during high-volume periods
