We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a well-established, high-volume diner in Northern New Jersey. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, leadership, and a passion for classic American diner fare with a modern twist. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a busy kitchen, maintain high food quality and consistency, and foster a positive and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Develop and refine menu items, focusing on traditional diner cuisine and seasonal specials
Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation in a fast-paced setting
Manage kitchen staff scheduling, training, and performance
Monitor inventory, order supplies, and control food and labor costs
Enforce health and safety standards in compliance with state and local regulations
Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure a seamless guest experience
Lead by example with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume kitchen
Strong knowledge of classic American diner cuisine and comfort food
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing demands
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
ServSafe or other food safety certification required
