Job Overview

We are seeking a results-oriented Hotel General Manager to elevate operations at our select-service property. This critical leadership role will harness your expertise to drive exceptional guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and consistent financial performance.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Leadership

  • Direct all aspects of daily hotel operations, ensuring flawless guest service and adherence to brand standards recognized for raising industry benchmarks.
  • Implement innovative strategies improving operational efficiency, driving an average 12% increase in guest satisfaction scores at properties we staff (2023 Gecko client data).
  • Perform regular property audits to maintain a well-kept, welcoming environment in alignment with compliance and guest expectations.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and empower diverse teams, from front office to maintenance; drive engagement through clear KPI-setting and performance feedback.
  • Mentor and lead by example, fostering a talent pipeline—70% of Gecko-placed managers earn internal promotions within three years, according to client surveys.
  • Promote a collaborative, accountable culture focused on continuous improvement and professional development.

Guest Satisfaction

  • Elevate the guest experience by instilling customer-first mindsets and ensuring prompt, empathetic issue resolution, resulting in a consistent stream of positive guest testimonials and repeat business.
  • Leverage guest feedback platforms and analytics to prioritize actionable improvements, strengthening your property’s reputation and loyalty metrics.

Financial Performance

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls, with a proven record of maximizing GOP margins without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with sales and revenue management teams to optimize ADR and RevPAR, implementing data-driven strategies that turn market challenges into growth opportunities.
  • Monitor P&L statements and take initiative to address performance variances proactively.

Brand Compliance and Standards

  • Guarantee 100% compliance with all brand, local, and federal standards by conducting frequent reviews and staying up-to-date on industry regulations.
  • Serve as liaison between property and corporate stakeholders, ensuring strategic objectives and KPIs align with organizational goals.


Ideal Candidate Profile


Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel management, with strong preference for background in select-service or focused-service environments.
  • Demonstrated history of team leadership, guest relations excellence, and consistently achieving operational and financial targets.
  • Hands-on expertise across all hotel functions—including rooms division, facilities, and food & beverage.
