Director of Sales - Events and Catering Group


The ideal candidate will possess a creative and innovative approach to sales. To be a top contender, the successful candidate must have extensive experience, with a minimum of 7 years, consistently achieving 8-figure bookings and a proven track record of leading a high-performing sales team.


We are a leading large-scale special event food and beverage services provider in the San Francisco Bay Area. Seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead our account management team and drive revenue growth. This hands-on role involves managing a 7-person sales team, mentoring for performance, and personally securing key business opportunities. Ideal candidate has strong corporate catering sales experience, a proven track record of exceeding targets, and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities


Sales Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage and develop a high-performing 7-person sales team.
  • Set performance goals, sales targets, and KPIs.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and evaluations to boost productivity.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, results-driven culture.
  • Oversee business development and client retention efforts.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in the corporate event market.
  • Generate leads via networking, cold calling, and industry events.
  • Conduct presentations, site visits, and tastings for prospects.
  • Close deals to meet or exceed targets.

Sales Strategy, Execution & Client Experience:

  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and performance data to refine strategies.
  • Collaborate on promotional campaigns, sales materials, and outreach events.
  • Strategize and close key accounts.
  • Champion superior client care across all touchpoints.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Partner to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Align sales with company-wide objectives and long-term goals.
  • Represent at events, industry functions, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years in a sales leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and develop teams.
