Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our accounting team at a growing restaurant chain in North America. This role will oversee accounting operations, ensure accounting accuracy, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of GAAP, strong leadership skills, and management experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Play a key role in the month end financial statement close process by preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounting entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members.
  • Partner with finance and other teams.
  • Work closely with CFO with other responsibilities including leading and management of special projects, ERP enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses as requested.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required). Master’s degree, especially in Accounting, Finance, MBA, or related field is a plus.
  • At least 8+ years of accounting experience is a must (preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry but not required).
  • At least 3+ years management experience is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • This position will be actively involved in IPOs, M&A, investor relations, and accounting related matters. Experience in those areas is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intact preferred but not required).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other financial tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
