Restaurant Assistant General Manager

Job Summary
The Restaurant Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily food and beverage operations while delivering a high-touch, elevated guest experience. This role helps lead service teams, ensures operational excellence, and supports financial and administrative functions within a dynamic, member-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing all daily restaurant and food & beverage operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination
  • Support hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management of service and support staff
  • Maintain exceptional service standards and ensure consistent execution across all dining areas and events
  • Partner with the General Manager to manage labor, payroll, and cost controls
  • Oversee service execution during peak periods, private events, and special functions
  • Address guest and member concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
  • Support inventory management, purchasing, and vendor coordination
  • Review operational reports and assist with implementing performance improvement plans
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the General Manager
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience, preferably in an upscale dining or private club environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, and guest-relations skills
  • Working knowledge of labor management, scheduling, and cost controls
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in private clubs, banquet operations, or event-driven environments
  • Strong floor presence and service recovery abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard for professionalism and consistency
  • Ability to balance operational demands with personalized guest service
