Job Qualifications
- Culinary Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of kitchen experience in a high-volume, upscale casual or fine dining setting.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a culinary team in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, food safety standards, and kitchen sanitation.
- Inventory Management: Experience with ordering, inventory control, and food cost management.
- Flexibility: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Assist the Executive Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, including supervising and training line cooks and prep staff.
- Menu Execution: Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency according to our seasonal menus.
- Kitchen Operations: Manage daily kitchen logistics, including station prep, equipment maintenance, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and organized.
- Cost Control: assist in monitoring food waste, portion control, and labor costs to maintain profitability.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and safe food handling for guests.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the front-of-house management to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
