Restaurant Assistant General Manager

Location: New York, NY

We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Restaurant Assistant General Manager to support daily operations in an upscale, high-volume restaurant environment. This leadership role partners closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, strong team development, and consistent operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including service, food quality, and guest satisfaction
Lead, coach, and motivate managers and hourly team members to uphold service and hospitality standards
Assist with P&L management, including labor optimization, food and beverage cost control, inventory, and budgeting
Ensure consistent execution of service standards, recipes, and operational procedures
Act as a floor leader during peak service periods, engaging with guests and resolving concerns promptly and professionally
Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Support initiatives to drive sales, elevate the guest experience, and improve operational efficiency

Qualifications:

2+ years of Assistant General Manager or senior management experience in an upscale casual or high-volume full-service restaurant
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality
Solid understanding of restaurant financials, including labor and cost controls
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
