Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: Waco, Texas

Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 + Bonus


Training: All Candidates must be available for training near DFW area for 6 weeks. ( All expenses Paid)



Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, service-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to act as the primary support partner to the General Manager. This role oversees daily operations, team leadership, training, and shift execution to ensure strong sales performance, cost control, and profitability.


The Assistant Manager will regularly run shifts independently, ensuring guests receive fast, friendly service and high-quality food delivered accurately and efficiently. This leader plays a key role in staffing, team development, operational standards, and maintaining a positive workplace culture while upholding all food safety and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Lead shifts and oversee front- and back-of-house operations, including solo leadership when needed
  • Ensure consistent, friendly guest service and timely, accurate food delivery
  • Maintain food quality, preparation, and presentation standards
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns professionally and promptly
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and daily operational readiness
  • Implement cleaning and housekeeping procedures to maintain facility standards


Team Leadership & Staffing

  • Interview, hire, and train team members (with General Manager approval)
  • Schedule staff and adjust labor based on business levels
  • Coach, motivate, and develop employees throughout each shift
  • Maintain adequate staffing coverage and call in team members when needed
  • Build positive relationships with employees to promote morale and retention


Financial & Administrative Management

  • Assist in achieving financial goals related to sales, labor, food cost, and controllable expenses
  • Analyze P&L statements and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Control inventory and ensure proper ordering from approved vendors
  • Follow cash handling and asset protection procedures
  • Assist with payroll processing and applicant tracking compliance


Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and local health regulations
  • Maintain compliance with labor laws, worker safety, and alcohol service requirements
  • Utilize preventive maintenance procedures for building and equipment
  • Support local store marketing initiatives


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Prior restaurant leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • ServSafe certification required (or ability to obtain)

Technical & Business Skills

  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer programs (Word, Excel, internet applications)


Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (where permitted by law)


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Regular standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • Exposure to commercial kitchen equipment and temperature changes (coolers, freezers, cooking equipment)
  • Frequent use of grills, fryers, ovens, slicers, and POS equipment
