Title: Assistant General Manager
Location: San Antonio, TX (area)
Salary: $65K - $75K + 8% Bonus
Position Overview:
The Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing food & beverage, retail, aquatic, and recreation activities, ensuring smooth operations and memorable experiences for all guests. The AGM will set and implement both short- and long-term goals, manage daily operations, and uphold company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Inspire and energize the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Recruit, train, and schedule team members across food & beverage, retail, aquatics, and recreation departments.
- Provide consistent feedback, set goals, and foster team development.
- Monitor team performance, ensuring compliance with required training and certifications.
- Collaborate with HR and management on employment actions, including disciplinary measures and terminations.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily operations of assigned departments, ensuring guest needs are met and projects are completed.
- Serve as Manager on Duty on a rotational basis.
- Perform tasks alongside team members to support operations.
- Plan and coordinate activity programs in collaboration with other managers to create unforgettable guest experiences.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and budgets for assigned departments.
Guest Experience & Conflict Resolution
- Address and resolve guest complaints and conflicts within assigned departments.
- Organize and follow up on guest and home office requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations for staff certifications and facility safety.
Strategic Planning & Financial Management
- Analyze costs, benefits, and losses to support company profitability.
- Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Operate within prescribed budgets for labor and expenses.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2-4 years of management experience (hospitality, hotel, or resort management preferred but not required).
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and be on call during occasional periods.
- Enjoys working with people and children.
