Position Overview:

The Purchasing & Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing all product inventory across wine, spirits, beer, and related merchandise. This individual will oversee purchasing strategy, vendor performance, cost control, and product mix optimization to ensure strong margins and consistent product availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Vendor Management:

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with sales trends, seasonal demand, and market opportunities.
• Source and negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional support with distributors and suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with wine, liquor, and beverage vendors to secure competitive pricing and exclusive offerings.
• Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved service levels.

Inventory & Cost Control:

• Oversee all inventory management, including ordering, forecasting, receiving, and stock rotation.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock, out-of-stocks, and excess shrink.
• Analyze product movement and sales data to optimize product mix and margin performance.
• Implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize loss.

Strategic Planning & Profitability:

• Analyze sales trends and category performance to drive informed purchasing decisions.
• Identify new product opportunities and emerging brands to enhance competitive positioning.
• Collaborate with ownership and store leadership on pricing strategies and promotional planning.
• Manage purchasing budgets and ensure alignment with overall financial goals.

Compliance & Operations:

• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with state and federal alcohol regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Coordinate timely deliveries and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed.
