About the Company / Opportunity:

A premier beachfront resort in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking a strategic and driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the property’s overall revenue generation strategy. This role will oversee all sales initiatives, marketing efforts, and revenue-driving partnerships to maximize occupancy, group business, and overall resort visibility in the market.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement the overall sales and marketing strategy to maximize room revenue, occupancy, and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, group, leisure, and travel segments.
  • Monitor booking pace, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies and capture demand.
  • Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing, promotions, and distribution strategies.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals and revenue targets.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor the property’s sales team, including Sales Managers and support staff.
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures for the team.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and training to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across departments including operations, revenue management, and marketing.

Client Relationships & Market Presence

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, group planners, travel partners, and community organizations.
  • Represent the resort at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to increase visibility and generate new business.
  • Conduct high-level client meetings and property tours to secure large accounts and strategic partnerships.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

  • Partner with the marketing team to develop campaigns that increase brand awareness and drive demand across target segments.
  • Oversee digital marketing initiatives, promotions, and partnerships that support the resort’s positioning in the market.
  • Evaluate marketing performance and adjust strategies to ensure effective lead generation and ROI.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Track and analyze sales performance, forecasting, and market data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, revenue projections, and performance updates to executive leadership.
  • Ensure all sales activities, contracts, and client records are accurately maintained within CRM systems.
