Food & Beverage Manager

Location: Naperville, IL

Salary: $60K - $70K




The Food & Beverage Manager plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth daily operations. This position collaborates with the management team to handle associate relations, recruitment, training, purchasing, inventory, payroll, and front-of-house operations across multiple dining outlets, including in-room dining, restaurants, lounges, and cafes.


The ideal candidate is hands-on, present during peak service times, and works closely with senior leadership to develop a high-performing team while maintaining operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-shift and departmental meetings to align teams on daily goals.
  • Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage staff schedules, ensuring compliance with meal break standards.
  • Review and edit timecards, track attendance, and manage payroll processes.
  • Prepare daily tip share and end-of-shift reports.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed and conduct end-of-shift reconciliations.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete assigned projects on time and provide progress updates to leadership.
  • Uphold brand standards and ensure consistent service quality.
  • Monitor labor and inventory to align with budgetary goals.
  • Conduct ongoing training programs for new and existing team members.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events.
  • Ensure food quality and consistency meet high standards.
  • Support recruitment, staffing, performance management, and scheduling efforts.
  • Provide real-time feedback and coaching to associates.
  • Foster a positive, empowering, and productive work environment.
  • Train new hires and existing staff on role expectations and responsibilities.
  • Promote all facilities and services to guests in a positive manner.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all departments.
  • Investigate and resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of emergency procedures, including fire, weather, and medical situations.
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.


Qualifications


Education

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • BASSET and Food Handler certifications required.
  • ServSafe Manager and Allergen certifications preferred.


Experience

  • 1-2 years of management experience in a similar food and beverage environment.
  • Previous experience in a luxury hospitality setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Micros Simphony is strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in computer systems, including Micros.
