Assistant General Manager - New Opening Premier Fine-Dining Restaurant Downtown Calgary

A premier fine-dining establishment is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the opening of its new location in downtown Calgary. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a passion for excellence and a proven ability to lead and inspire teams. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and uphold the highest standards of quality and service.

Compensation
Total Annual Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily service.
  • Lead by example to deliver exceptional guest experiences, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Monitor and manage operational budgets, including labor costs, inventory, and other expenses, to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Uphold and enforce the restaurant’s fine-dining standards, ensuring consistency in service, ambiance, and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain seamless communication and alignment between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Step into the General Manager’s role as needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction and team collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of financial management, including P&L statements, budgeting, and cost control.
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
