General Manager – Full-Service Hotel

Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 ++

Location: 15 miles outside of Downtown Chicago





Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our full-service hotel to new heights of excellence. The ideal candidate will be a passionate hospitality professional with a proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, maximizing revenue, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire a team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and strategically position the hotel to outperform the competition.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Guest Satisfaction:

  • Ensure an exceptional experience for both internal and external guests by fostering a culture of service excellence.
  • Monitor and improve guest satisfaction scores through proactive engagement, personalized service, and prompt resolution of guest concerns.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality across all areas of the property.


2. Revenue Growth:

  • Drive top-line revenue by implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies to attract new business and retain loyal guests.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities for shifting market share from the competitive set.
  • Collaborate with the sales and revenue management teams to optimize pricing, inventory, and distribution channels.


3. Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure all departments are aligned with the hotel’s goals and brand standards.
  • Maintain budgeted costs by monitoring expenses, improving operational efficiencies, and implementing cost-control measures.
  • Ensure all facilities, equipment, and systems are in excellent working order to enhance guest satisfaction and operational reliability.


4. Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of hospitality professionals to deliver outstanding service and achieve business objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.


5. Community and Brand Engagement:

  • Act as the face of the hotel, building strong relationships with guests, local businesses, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, networking opportunities, and community initiatives to enhance the property’s reputation and visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and maintain a strong partnership with the corporate office or ownership group.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in a full-service hotel environment.
  • Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
