Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join a high-performing culinary team at a full-service hospitality venue near Naperville, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and is passionate about delivering exceptional food quality, consistency, and guest experiences.

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, develop team members, and ensure every dish leaving the kitchen meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including prep, production, and service
• Lead, coach, and develop kitchen team members to maintain a high-performing, positive culture
• Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution across all service periods
• Assist with menu execution, recipe adherence, and portion control
• Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health and safety standards
• Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager in a full-service restaurant or hotel
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food cost control, and inventory management
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Culinary degree preferred, but not required
• Passion for food, creativity, and delivering memorable guest experiences
