Position Description:

As a hospitality leader, the Restaurant General Manager in Grand Forks, North Dakota, you will be responsible for the financial well-being of the restaurant, while ensuring the team upholds high operational standards. You will handle concerns from guests and crew members with professionalism and speed. You will also work closely with vendors to build and maintain strong business relationships that drive success in Grand Forks, North Dakota,


Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines to maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Direct activities and manage the performance of the hourly staff.
  • Resolve verbal and written guest complaints immediately to provide effective solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate food and beverage inventories to control costs.
  • Teach and enforce alcohol awareness, building positive relationships with local authorities for alcohol-related matters.
  • Assure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Guarantee timely product preparation and presentation meets company standards.
  • Use forecasting tools to ensure product preparation matches sales volume.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness and sanitation according to government and company guidelines.
  • Complete daily reports and financial documents accurately and on time.
  • Schedule staffing effectively to match sales volume and maintain high service levels.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all cash-handling procedures.
  • Direct the hiring, training, motivation, evaluation, promotion, and discipline of restaurant personnel.
  • Maintain effective safety and security programs for guests and employees.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other management staff.
  • Stay current with all relative computer applications, forms, and spreadsheets.
  • Work a 50-hour week, completing at least 50% of these hours during peak revenue periods.
  • Complete all other assigned management duties and responsibilities.


Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of management and leadership experience required (hospitality or service industry preferred).
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must provide proof upon hire of legal status to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks while running an effective shift.
  • Must perform duties on-site, aligning with customary scheduling requirements (including the ability to work varied shifts).
  • Capable of standing and walking for long periods without a break.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment that may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, or other elements.
  • Willingness to transfer from one location to another, as business needs dictate.
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds as necessary.
  • Ability to travel to other restaurants and meeting venues.
