Mark’s professional journey is a testament to the power of communication, leadership, and relationship-building. He began his career in the restaurant industry while still in high school and college, developing a strong work ethic and a passion for connecting with people in fast-paced, service-driven environments. Those early experiences laid the foundation for a career centered on communication and leadership.

Mark later transitioned into broadcast meteorology, working in television markets including Chicago, where he built a reputation for delivering accurate forecasts and engaging storytelling. His ability to communicate clearly and connect with audiences eventually led him into higher education, where he became a full-time professor teaching media and communication. Throughout his academic career, Mark earned numerous awards and recognition as an outstanding educator and respected leader, mentoring future professionals and helping students develop confidence in their communication skills.

Today, Mark has returned to his hospitality roots as an Executive Recruiter with Gecko Hospitality, serving clients and candidates throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Drawing from decades of experience across hospitality, media, and education, Mark takes a highly relational approach to recruiting, believing that strong communication, trust, and genuine connections are the keys to long-term success.
