About the Opportunity
A growing licensed coffee and café operation is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a high-volume location in San Diego.
This role is ideal for a hospitality driven leader who enjoys building teams, developing future leaders, and creating an exceptional guest experience. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of store operations while maintaining strong financial performance, operational excellence, and a positive team culture.
The ideal candidate has a passion for coffee, guest service, and people development, along with the ability to lead a fast-paced operation while maintaining high standards.
Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the store, including team leadership, operational execution, financial performance, guest satisfaction, staffing, inventory management, and community engagement.
This leader will create a culture focused on accountability, service, and development while ensuring the store consistently delivers an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, train, and develop high-performing team members
Build a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Coach and mentor team members to achieve personal and professional growth
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
Recognize and celebrate team accomplishments
Create a leadership pipeline for future growth
Operations Management
Oversee all daily store operations
Ensure operational standards, product quality, and cleanliness are consistently maintained
Manage opening, closing, and shift execution procedures
Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and operational procedures
Provide real-time coaching and support during peak business periods
Financial Performance
Monitor sales performance and key business metrics
Manage labor costs, scheduling, and staffing levels
Oversee inventory management and product ordering
Minimize waste and maximize operational efficiency
Analyze reports and identify opportunities for improvement
Drive store profitability through strong operational execution
Guest Experience
Create a customer-first culture focused on hospitality and service
Build strong relationships with guests and the local community
Address guest concerns professionally and efficiently
Ensure every guest receives a welcoming and memorable experience
Support initiatives that drive customer loyalty and repeat business
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and labor regulations

Ideal Candidate Profile
Restaurant, coffee, café, or retail management experience required
Previous Starbucks experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership and team development skills
Experience managing labor, inventory, scheduling, and financial performance
Passion for hospitality and guest service
Strong communication and coaching abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
