Job Qualifications

• Two to five years of management experience required; three to five years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality Management preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and understand English
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities
• Proven problem-solving, marketing, and budget management skills
• Comfortable speaking in public settings or in front of large groups of employees and guests
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• CHA designation preferred, though not required
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Job Responsibilities

As Hotel General Manager in Havre, Montana, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the property, balancing guest satisfaction with financial performance. Core responsibilities include:

• Developing and managing the hotel's operating budget to meet financial targets
• Driving sales efforts by engaging potential guests, greeting VIPs and convention officers, and building relationships with local businesses
• Maintaining quality standards across the property, including personally inspecting at least 10 guest rooms per week
• Analyzing daily operations and meeting regularly with department heads to review performance and gather feedback
• Selecting, training, and developing department heads, and holding staff accountable to established standards
• Building employee morale through direct engagement, coaching, and clear delegation of responsibilities
• Leading internal planning meetings covering sales forecasting, quality control, and safety
• Preparing timely operational reports and identifying strategies for improvement
• Managing staffing guides, payroll performance, and overtime approvals
• Reviewing and approving hotel expenses and purchase requisitions
• Inspecting the property regularly to ensure guest and staff safety and sanitation compliance
• Monitoring competitive rate data and partnering with regional leadership on pricing strategy
• Communicating key operational updates and policy matters to regional and executive leadership
• Overseeing inventory, equipment, and facility upkeep to protect the property's assets and cost objectives
• Maintaining accountability for all hotel revenue and accounts receivable
