Catering & Events Sales Manager

Location: Eastern Shore, MD

Compensation: up to $50k base + Commission + Benefits

About the Opportunity

Gecko Hospitality is proud to partner with a well-established event and hospitality venue to identify a Catering & Events Sales Manager on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity for an event sales professional who enjoys building relationships, closing business, and seeing every event through from first conversation to final toast. The venue offers a genuine path for growth, with the opportunity to work across multiple departments for the right person. The ideal candidate brings a proactive sales mindset, a polished and personable presence, and a natural ability to lead and develop a team.

What You’ll Do

• Meet annual sales goals for the corporate and social event market
• Proactively prospect new clients and grow repeat business
• Manage the full event process: site tours, proposals, contracts, billing, tastings, planning meetings, and event orders
• Oversee event-day operations alongside the banquet team
• Prepare weekly sales reports and attend weekly event planning meetings
• Collect open balances and keep menus and pricing up to date
• Hire, train, and manage a Sales Assistant
• Help build and manage the annual sales budget
• Coordinate group room blocks and support weekend open houses
• Plan multi-day group experiences, including activities and transportation
• Partner with culinary and operations teams so events run smoothly
• Contribute ideas for new menus, packages, and revenue opportunities

• Proven success in event or catering sales
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Experience leading and developing a team
• Comfort with budgets, contracts, and sales reporting
• A polished, guest-focused approach

Compensation & Benefits

• $45,000–$50,000 base salary, based on experience
