Overview:


We are seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced Chef De Cuisine to lead our well established Culinary team. Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, our restaurant is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through innovative cuisine and impeccable service. The Chef De Cuisine will play a pivotal role in kitchen management, and maintain the highest standards of culinary excellence within our Upscale, Fine Dining and Banquet Operations.



Key Responsibilities:



Kitchen Operations: Efficiently manage all aspects of the kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, equipment maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are always met.

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and passion for food.

Quality Control: Ensure every dish served meets the highest quality standards in terms of taste, presentation, and freshness. Conduct regular taste tests and adjust recipes or techniques as needed.

Cost Management: Oversee the kitchen's budget, managing food cost, labor cost, and waste to ensure profitability.

Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with the front-of-house team to guarantee customer satisfaction, respond to feedback and adjust offerings as necessary.

Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, sourcing the best quality ingredients while negotiating favorable terms.

Compliance: Ensure all food safety and sanitation regulations are followed, maintaining an immaculate inspection record.


Qualifications:


Experience: Proven experience as a Chef De Cuisine, Exec Chef, or Exec. Sous Chef in a reputable High End/Upscale Restaurant, Hotel, Club or Culinary establishment.

Culinary Expertise: Extensive knowledge of various culinary techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment.

Creativity: A strong creative flair with the ability to innovate and adapt menus to meet trends and customer preferences.

Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of motivating and developing a high-performing kitchen team.

Organization: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

Education: Culinary school degree or equivalent professional training preferred.

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., food safety certification) are advantageous.
