Chef De Cuisine Opportunity at a NEW restaurant coming to Detroit!

Up to $80,000 + BONUS + BENEFITS

The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for the overall leadership and creative direction of the kitchen. You will design and execute an innovative Asian fusion menu, source quality ingredients, manage kitchen operations, and lead a team of passionate chefs. This role is ideal for a culinary leader with deep knowledge of Asian cuisines and a flair for contemporary, cross-cultural techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine the restaurant’s Asian fusion menu in collaboration with ownership and culinary consultants
• Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency
• Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff; foster a culture of excellence and teamwork
• Monitor inventory, control food costs, and oversee procurement of ingredients
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Maintain relationships with local purveyors and explore sustainable sourcing options
• Innovate seasonally and participate in creative events, pop-ups, and chef’s table experiences
• Set and uphold high standards of presentation, taste, and service

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen
• Proven expertise in Asian cuisine—particularly Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, or Vietnamese—and experience blending these with global techniques
• Strong leadership, organizational, and mentoring skills
• Creative vision with a deep understanding of modern plating and presentation
• Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, budgeting, and inventory systems
• ServSafe certification (or equivalent) required
• Passion for hospitality and commitment to guest satisfaction
