Join our dynamic team in Philadelphia as a Catering Sales Manager, where your primary responsibility will be driving sales and securing contracts for our venue. You will be at the forefront of generating, managing, and coordinating external catering sales while leading marketing initiatives for the Catering Department. As a Sales Manager, you will independently oversee all aspects of group operations from the reservation process, through contract negotiation and finalization, to group reception and event catering execution.


Your role is pivotal in maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external clients, providing exceptional customer service, resolving inquiries, and offering expert advice on menu selections. Clear communication is key as you will facilitate information flow within the team and with guests and vendors. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to assist with general catering operations.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary of $55,000 to $65,000 with bonus eligibility

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships through strategic networking and prospecting
  • Deliver impactful sales presentations and source networking opportunities
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, overseeing all catering requirements
  • Collaborate daily with the Food & Beverage Manager, culinary staff, and Operations Staff
  • Maintain records of all sales activities and assist with client follow-ups
  • Plan and coordinate catered events, serving as the primary liaison post-contract signing


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years in the hospitality industry
  • Over 3 years of proven sales success
  • Expertise in catering sales, contract negotiation, and event management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of POS systems
  • Professionalism in communication and a commitment to confidentiality
  • Willingness to work varied schedules, including weekends and evenings as needed
  • Ability to travel for sales calls and events
