Position Overview
Holiday Inn Express is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the operations of our hotel. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest levels of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance while ensuring compliance with brand standards. The General Manager will act as a leader, mentor, and motivator for the hotel team, creating a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food services. Â
- Ensure a seamless and efficient workflow across departments. Â
- Monitor operational procedures to provide an exceptional guest experience. Â
2. Staff Leadership and Development:
- Manage, train, and inspire a team of department heads and staff, fostering collaboration and accountability. Â
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional growth. Â
- Develop staffing strategies to meet both peak and off-peak demand. Â
3. Guest Relations:
- Champion guest satisfaction by promptly addressing guest feedback and resolving problems effectively. Â
- Set service standards and empower the team to deliver exceptional, consistent guest interactions. Â
4. Financial Management:
- Manage the hotel’s budget, monitor revenue streams, and control operational costs to meet business goals. Â
- Conduct analysis of financial reports, such as P&Ls and KPIs, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Â
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to drive occupancy and revenue growth. Â
5. Brand Standards Compliance:
- Ensure alignment with all IHG brand standards, policies, and procedures. Â
- Conduct regular audits to maintain consistency and quality across operations. Â
- Stay updated with industry trends to ensure competitive positioning of the hotel. Â
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Â
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management, with a proven track record in achieving operational and fiscal success. Â
- Strong understanding of hospitality industry regulations, brand standards, and service expectations. Â
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Â
Preferred Skills & Attributes Â
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and maintain a positive work culture. Â
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management. Â
- Proficiency in common hotel management software and property management systems (e.g., Opera or similar). Â
