A luxury boutique hotel and resort group in Southern California’s wine country is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager to help lead daily operations at one of its flagship dining venues. Known for its Four Diamond service and stunning vineyard views, this role offers the opportunity to support award-winning culinary and guest experiences in a refined yet relaxed setting.
Annual Salary: $70,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-time | Wednesday through Sunday
Availability: Weekends and holidays required

Position Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager helps oversee restaurant and bar operations in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager. This role supports a team of servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, and other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery and a welcoming, hospitality-driven environment for all guests and members. The manager leads training, team development, daily service supervision, and operational reporting while upholding the brand’s high standards of service and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily front-of-house operations, ensuring excellent guest service and adherence to quality standards
- Coach, mentor, and develop FOH team members across all service roles
- Maintain labor compliance, break scheduling, and daily tip and payroll tracking
- Handle guest interactions, large party coordination, and VIP service
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and staff performance management
- Support wine club service initiatives and elevate member experience
- Contribute to training, sanitation, and safety compliance protocols
- Manage daily reports, cash handling, comps/discounts, and inventory tracking
Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Complete scheduling and payroll tasks in systems like Toast, ADP, OpenTable, and Excel
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports
- Process POs, track beverage and cage inventory, and support end-of-month procedures
- Collaborate with leadership on Wine Club service integration and member retention
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience
- Solid knowledge of wine, cocktails, food service, and dining etiquette
- Experience using Toast, OpenTable, Excel, and other F&B management systems
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead with a hands-on, collaborative management style
- Must obtain county-required food handler and alcohol service certifications
