A popular neighborhood café in the heart of Little Italy is looking for a hands-on Assistant General Manager to help lead daily operations and deliver memorable guest experiences. Known for its creative menu, specialty coffee, and vibrant community vibe, this café is part of a growing hospitality group focused on quality, hospitality, and team development.

The Role:
The Assistant General Manager supports all aspects of day-to-day operations. This includes team leadership, customer service, inventory management, and upholding service and cleanliness standards. The role reports to the General Manager and serves as a key leader on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support café staff including baristas, servers, and support team
- Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Respond to customer feedback and resolve service issues professionally
- Oversee daily inventory levels and assist with ordering
- Ensure consistent food and beverage presentation
- Support training of new and existing team members
- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS reporting, and end-of-day paperwork
- Assist in developing local promotions and community events
- Act as Manager-on-Duty when General Manager is off-site
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of leadership experience in a café, fast-casual, or restaurant environment
- Strong customer service skills and ability to lead by example
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic reporting tools
- Food safety certification (ServSafe or RBS) required or must be obtained within 30 days
- Able to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Passion for food, coffee, and community
Schedule:
- Full-time, on-site
- 8-hour shifts with a mix of mornings, evenings, and weekends
