Boone, North Carolina | Full-time, on-site | Confidential hospitality and wellness opportunity

Base salary: $85,000–$100,000

A hospitality and wellness destination is seeking a hands-on Controller to own its accounting function and strengthen in-house financial processes. You will combine accurate accounting, practical process building and clear communication with operational leaders. This is an opportunity to establish reliable reporting and controls within a property with multiple departments and revenue streams.

What You Will Do

• Own monthly, quarterly and year-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll coordination and fixed assets.
• Build dependable accounting procedures, internal controls and reporting routines.
• Support the transition of financial responsibilities to in-house ownership and coordinate with outside partners as needed.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and management reports that help leaders make informed operating decisions.
• Partner with department leaders to improve financial visibility, accountability and cost discipline.
• Support audit preparation and compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting leadership with substantial responsibility for close, reporting, reconciliations and controls.
• Ability to organize an accounting function, improve processes and maintain accuracy while working through changing priorities.
• Experience partnering with business or operational leaders and explaining financial information clearly.
• Practical understanding of cash management, AP/AR, payroll oversight, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong judgment, discretion, organization and dependable follow-through.
• Ability to work on-site in Boone and support a collaborative, mission-driven hospitality setting.

Preferred Experience

• Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance or similar experience.
• Hospitality, hotel, resort, club, retreat or another service business with multiple operating departments.
• Experience building an in-house finance function or strengthening reporting and close processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Senior accountants or assistant controllers with demonstrated leadership and full-function ownership may be considered.

Compensation and Location

• Base salary of $85,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
• The role is based on-site in Boone, NC; a realistic commute or relocation plan is required.
