Responsibilities
- Design and Prepare Menus: Assist in creating inspired food menus that exceed guest expectations.
- Deliver Excellence: Produce high-quality plated and buffet meals that showcase attention to detail and creativity.
- Ensure Efficiency: Oversee kitchen operations to maintain optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance to company standards.
- Solve Challenges: Resourcefully address any issues that arise and take control of situations to ensure smooth operation.
- Lead and Train Staff: Manage, train, and motivate kitchen team members, establish schedules, and evaluate performance to cultivate a dynamic team.
- Oversee Inventory: Manage supply orders to ensure appropriate inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Uphold Standards: Enforce sanitation regulations and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen environment.
- Foster Professionalism: Build positive relationships with coworkers and customers through a professional and upbeat approach.
- Control Costs: Effectively manage food and labor costs while maintaining quality and profitability.
Skills
- Proven track record of leadership and culinary expertise in the kitchen.
- Comprehensive understanding of diverse cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and food preparation techniques.
- Strong background in managing kitchen staff, with the ability to inspire teamwork and improve performance.
- Exceptional ability to handle emergencies with speed, accuracy, and practical solutions.
- Familiarity with industry best practices, including emerging trends and innovative approaches.
Requirements
- A degree in Culinary Arts, ACF Executive Chef Certification, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years as an Executive Chef in a banquet-focused kitchen environment.
