Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Hotel Operations to oversee the day-to-day management of our 100-room boutique hotel. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless operations across the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering departments while maintaining impeccable guest service standards. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a sharp eye for operational excellence and a proven track record in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee and coordinate the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth daily operations, maintaining the highest levels of guest service.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and achieve departmental goals.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., occupancy rates, guest satisfaction scores, and departmental expenses) to identify areas for operational improvement.
- Act as the primary liaison between operational departments, fostering cross-functional communication and collaboration.
Guest Experience
- Drive exceptional guest satisfaction by ensuring clear communication, prompt issue resolution, and consistently upholding service standards.
- Conduct regular reviews of guest feedback and collaborate with teams to implement strategies for improvement.
- Work closely with the Front Desk team to promote a personalized guest experience, emphasizing attention to detail and boutique-level hospitality.
Team Development and Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and inspire departmental managers, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous professional growth.
- Conduct performance appraisals, recommend training programs, and support team members in achieving their professional goals.
- Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and that all departments are equipped with the resources needed for success.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the operational budget for all directly supervised departments, aligning with financial goals.
- Monitor departmental expenses and revenue streams to ensure profitability without compromising service standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to assess and optimize capital improvement plans for the property.
Facilities Management
- Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure that the property’s infrastructure, equipment, and amenities are well-maintained and conform to safety standards.
- Partner with vendors and contractors as necessary to oversee repairs, renovations, and routine maintenance schedules.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in hotel operations, with at least 3 years at a Department Head Level
- Industry Knowledge: Proven expertise in boutique hotel operations, with a solid understanding of customer service principles, budgeting, and facilities management.
