Job Description: Director of Finance

Salary Range

$150,000 - $180,000

Role Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role within a small, entrepreneurial company, reporting directly to ownership. The successful candidate will manage core accounting functions and financial planning while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Balance sheet reconciliation is a key responsibility, requiring a professional who remains connected to operational details and thrives in a smaller team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment functions.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheets to maintain precise financial records.
• Develop and enforce policies for budgeting, cash flow, and internal controls.
• Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions and external accountants.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, audits, and regulatory filings.
• Provide strategic financial advice and contribute to long-term planning.
• Lead and develop teams in financial management best practices.
• Adapt quickly and effectively to the dynamic needs of a smaller organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, compliance, and financial systems.
• Hands-on experience in operational finance for smaller teams or companies.
• Proficiency in modern accounting and ERP software solutions, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in balance sheet reconciliation and maintaining financial accuracy.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of Hospitality experience in accounting or financial management, ideally in entrepreneurial or small-team settings.
