Job Description: Assistant General Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to oversee daily operations and ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional guest experiences. This role is pivotal in supporting overall hotel management, driving operational excellence, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. An ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of success in hotel operations.
Core Responsibilities
The AGM will work closely with the General Manager (GM) to uphold quality standards, ensure revenue growth, and implement strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
Leadership and Team Management
- Provide hands-on leadership to department heads and staff, creating a culture of engagement, accountability, and excellence.
- Mentor, train, and develop team members to enhance skill levels and prepare them for future responsibilities.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance management to ensure staffing aligns with operational needs and service standards.
Guest Satisfaction
- Maintain a strong presence in all guest areas, ensuring customer needs are met promptly.
- Address and resolve guest concerns effectively, reinforcing the property's commitment to exceptional service.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement proactive solutions to enhance satisfaction scores.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure efficient management of daily operations across all departments.
- Support revenue management strategies to optimize ADR (average daily rate) and occupancy levels.
- Oversee inventory controls, budget adherence, and cost management efforts.
Compliance and Property Standards
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and property policies, including brand and local regulations.
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain high operational and aesthetic standards.
- Assist in preparing reports and providing analysis related to operational performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hospitality management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or assistant manager role.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage.
- Knowledge of revenue management principles and budgeting practices.
