Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $84,000–$90,000 annually + excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k with contributions, paid holidays, generous PTO with annual increases of up to 3%, and access to on-site fitness center)
About the Role
A well-regarded institution in San Diego is seeking a Director of Campus and Facilities Operations to oversee daily operations, staff supervision, and guest services across multiple student-focused buildings. These buildings serve as central spaces for the campus community and include lounge areas, meeting rooms, and event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of professional and student staff to ensure daily building operations run smoothly
- Oversee setup, cleanliness, and readiness of meeting and event spaces
- Manage scheduling, facility use, and space rentals
- Support campus and external events, including light decorating and logistics
- Foster collaboration with campus facilities, vendors, and other departments
- Maintain a high level of service and guest experience
- Administer operational budgets and staffing plans
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years experience in facilities, student union operations, hospitality, or event management
- 3+ years supervisory experience over full-time and/or student teams
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable balancing both administrative and hands-on operational duties
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Preferred
- Background in university settings, event operations, or hospitality
- Familiarity with AV/event tech, custodial coordination, or decor planning
Work Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. May require occasional evening or weekend shifts to support major campus events.
