Job Description
Inn GM - Property Director $85K + On site Living
About Us
Nestled along a stunning coastal landscape, our boutique retreat is a haven where genuine hospitality meets effortless, thoughtful comfort—offering more than just a workplace, but a way of life. The Property Director has the unique opportunity to live on-site, shape an unforgettable guest experience, and take full ownership of a property where your hands, heart, and standards will be felt in every detail of the guest journey. If you thrive in quiet leadership, believe that small touches make the biggest impact, and are ready to be the reason guests return year after year—this is the role you’ve been waiting for.
Position Overview
The Property Director is the live-on-site primary steward of operations at our coastal retreat. This hands-on role blends guest service, property care, and operational precision. While you’ll collaborate with partners and vendors, much of the work is done directly—responding to guest needs, overseeing front office functions, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and ensuring the experience remains aligned with our high standards. This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing the work, not just directing it—someone who understands the value in executing beauty, small details, and proactivity.
Living Arrangements
The Property Director is provided with a charming studio unit on-site, equipped with a kitchenette and modern appliances, set against the backdrop of a breathtaking coastal landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Front Office
- Personally manage daily guest operations, including check-in, check-out, room readiness, and in-stay service needs.
- Execute all tasks with the brand mantra: “If it can be done, it can be done beautifully.”
- Manage all operations of the Assistant Property Manager.
- Resolve guest concerns with empathy, urgency, and follow-through, ensuring each stay reflects our promise of excellence.
- Monitor service delivery and adjust quickly in response to trends or feedback, supporting the experience in real time.
- Treat all guest interactions with visible intentionality.
- Stay current on property offerings, local happenings, and guest preferences to tailor every interaction.
- Use available tools and reports to understand booking trends and support occupancy and revenue goals.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of operational and financial performance to ownership.
Property Operations & Maintenance
- Conduct regular walkthroughs and structured inspections to identify and address maintenance needs, both immediate and long-term.
- Handle small repairs and troubleshoot issues directly when possible; coordinate and supervise vendors for more involved tasks.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure property systems are running reliably.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and work closely with partners to ensure smooth vendor relationships and inspections.
Administrative & Compliance
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and expense tracking with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
- Operate purchases within budget.
- Maintain reports, daily logs, and system entries that reflect operational and guest service activities.
- Promote top-line revenues through excellent social media practices, revenue management, and extraordinary hospitality that drives repeat guest visits.
- Uphold safety and emergency response procedures; coordinate with local agencies when required.
- Ensure all practices comply with local regulations and align with brand expectations.
On-Property Presence
- Act as the Manager on Duty, especially during key hours and guest touchpoints.
- Take full ownership of the physical condition, efficient operation, and guest experiential excellence of the property.
- Remain visible and accessible, responding to guest needs, maintenance calls, or administrative tasks as they arise.
- Supervise on-property teams, including vendors, landscapers, housekeepers, and assistants, to ensure absolute excellence in their execution of tasks.
- Prepare and hand over plans for the Assistant Manager to succeed when away from the property.
- Support a smooth flow between guest-facing and operational work, often wearing multiple hats throughout the day.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in hospitality, ideally in boutique or independent properties.
- Experience with both front office operations and facilities oversight strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to self-manage without direct supervision.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of all aspects of the guest and property experience.
- Excellent communication and follow-through skills.
- Ability to remain calm, thoughtful, and effective in high-pressure or unpredictable situations.
- Strong working knowledge of basic maintenance, hospitality systems, and local compliance standards.
How to Apply
If you’re ready to lead with intention and create unforgettable guest experiences in a stunning coastal setting, we’d love to hear from you.
