Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant General Manager to lead the dining program at our full-service, luxury independent hotel in the heart of Nashville. This role oversees our 140-seat fine dining restaurant, upscale bar, and café, ensuring an exceptional guest experience that reflects the sophistication and hospitality our property is known for.

 

The Restaurant General Manager will be the driving force behind service excellence, cultivating a dynamic team that thrives on precision, warmth, and refinement. From developing talent and fostering a culture of accountability to partnering with culinary leadership on innovative menus, the General Manager will shape a dining experience that is both memorable and unique to Nashville’s vibrant hospitality landscape.

 

Beyond service, this role requires a strong command of financial and operational management. The Restaurant General Manager will be responsible for strategic planning, forecasting, and achieving revenue goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for hospitality, the ideal candidate will balance day-to-day leadership with long-term vision, ensuring that our restaurant remains a destination for locals and travelers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership to the restaurant team, setting and maintaining the highest standards of service, hospitality, and professionalism.
  • Oversee daily operations of the fine dining restaurant, bar, and café, ensuring smooth, efficient, and guest-focused execution.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to maintain menu quality, consistency, and innovation that aligns with the restaurant’s brand.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a pristine and welcoming environment.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost controls, with a focus on revenue growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement service standards, operating procedures, and best practices to optimize guest satisfaction.
  • Manage vendor relationships, inventory, and ordering to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
  • Lead by example on the floor, engaging with guests to build relationships and ensure memorable experiences.
  • Drive marketing, sales initiatives, and community partnerships to elevate the restaurant’s reputation and visibility.
  • Resolve guest concerns with discretion, professionalism, and a commitment to exceeding expectations.
  • Report regularly to ownership/leadership on performance, opportunities, and strategies for growth.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in restaurant management within a fine dining restaurant, hotel, resort, or private club.
  • Must possess the ability to erase the imaginary line of separation between the FOH and BOH.
  • Must have the ability to create an exceptionally positive work environment for our associates.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations is required to ensure compliance.
