Job Title: Area Leader

Location: Southern California (based in Coachella Valley, Palm Desert

Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 annually + performance bonus + full benefits


About the Role


We are seeking a results-driven Area Leader to oversee multiple quick-service restaurant locations within Southern California. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing leadership teams, and ensuring financial and service standards are met across all units.


The Area Leader reports to the Regional Director of Operations and plays a critical role in shaping guest experience, improving performance, and mentoring General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Shift Leaders.


Key Responsibilities


Lead, coach, and develop restaurant leadership teams through training, mentoring, and ongoing performance management


Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, employee safety, and federal/state/local regulations


Manage budgets and P&Ls for multiple locations, focusing on cost controls, labor scheduling, and revenue growth


Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to improve performance across all locations


Conduct restaurant visits (scheduled and unscheduled) to ensure operational standards, cleanliness, and compliance


Address escalated customer complaints and employee relations issues professionally


Partner with HR, Training, and Marketing to execute promotions, resolve employee issues, and drive guest traffic


Preserve brand integrity by upholding service and quality standards


Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required


Minimum 5 years of General Management experience in quick-service or fast-casual restaurants


3+ years of experience as an Area Leader, District Manager, or equivalent preferred


Proven ability to manage P&Ls, analyze financial reports, and improve profitability


Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills


Must hold a valid driver’s license and be open to travel across Southern California and occasionally out-of-state


Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require
